How To Make Peace With Food–A Masterclass

Finding peace with food isn't a Jedi mind trick.

It's an active process you can learn.

Do You:

  • Feel a constant push-pull with food?
  • Overconsume or indulge and then feel guilty about it?
  • Engage in poor self-talk about your appearance or lack of self-control?
  • Use food to self-soothe your emotions?

What does peace with food mean to you?

To me, it means:

  1. It isn’t controlling my actions or creating intrusive thoughts I have to push away.
  2. It’s a pleasurable part of my life I can co-exist with.
  3. I soothe my difficult emotions with beneficial actions (and don’t think of food as a way to ‘feel’ better).
  4. I understand what food supports my peace and focus my nourishment on enjoyable choices.
  5. I don’t think of a meal I’m about to eat as points, colors, or calories but as food my body needs and I intend to enjoy.
  6. I no longer feel overwhelmed, sad, or compulsive about consuming food.
